Product Description

Set 2 - This set includes short a, short e, short i, short o, short u & short oo sounds

A complete programme that gives children all they need to learn the alternative spellings of the 44 sounds in the English language.

Every sound has its own domino game ready to play. Once you’ve introduced a sound and its alternative spellings, each game provides perfect practice and reinforcement of the most popular graphemes.

Useful at many stages of Letters and Sounds but particularly at Phase 5, these games will also provide support in the following years when children are using and applying their phonic knowledge or struggling with spellings, or to support children with SEN.

No teaching assistant availability? No problem! The self-checking element of these dominoes means children are empowered to check their own work. Whether working on their own or in a small group, the instant feedback allows children to try again if they make a mistake.

How to play: select the sound you wish to practise. Deal the dominoes picture side up. Children match a grapheme to a picture that they think contains that spelling, e.g. a_e matches to the picture of a cake. The child should say ‘cake’, then spell cake, then turn over the cake domino where they will see the word, with the matching grapheme highlighted - so that they can instantly see if they are right!

72 dominoes in total (comprises 6 sets of 12 dominoes)
