  Writing Competition Winners announced!

    23rd July 2015

 

 Pupils all over the country were asked to write a story with up to 250 words in their    best handwriting. After hundreds of entries, author Emma Barnes - whose new "Wild  Thing" series is published by Scholastic- has picked the winners.

  Prizes ranged from a signed copy of Emma Barnes' book to a set of 20 books and a  cinema family pass for 4. With the winning school in each category also receiving a      set of English guides for the National Curriculum, worth over £210!

 In addition to the fabulous prizes for both pupils and schools, the winning story from each category has been read aloud on video by Emma Barnes to celebrate the achievements throughout the schools.

            Our Metallic Bricks are in the finals!

Hope Education is proud to announce that one of our products have been shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘NURSERY PRODUCT/INNOVATION’ category in the 2015 Scottish NMT awards

A newly developed and exclusive product the Metallic bricks are not only a fun and inspiring toy but also allow aid early learning and development. Educational Resource Awards Supplier of the Year Finalist

           We have been shortlisted for three Educational Resource Awards!

20th February 2015

Hope Education is proud to announce that we have been shortlisted as a finalist in the 'Supplier of the Year' category in the 2015 Education Resource Awards (ERA).

As well as this fantastic achievement, 2 of our new LDA books have also been shortlisted:  "How to understand and apply SEN policy" which was published in October 2014 has been selected for the SEN non ICT resource of the year. Whilst the "Kaos World Chronicles" series has also been nominated into the same category.

Winners will be announced on Friday 20th March at the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham. Keep your fingers crossed!

At the end of last year we launched our annual Christmas and festival themed competition sponsored by Staedtler. After 2013’s winning entry the bar was set extremely high. The competition was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to come together at the end of the year and get creative, with the chance to win up to £500 in vouchers to spend with us.

After receiving some fantastic entries it couldn’t have been closer! The photos were passed around the offices and Hope Education employees cast their votes. We can now announce the winner of the 2014 Christmas competition is…?

Nursery world show

The Nursery World show is returning on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th February 2015 at the Business Design Centre in London and we'll be there. The Show is perfect for everyone involved in the early years community and early years education to get all the latest information and attend workshops and seminars.

           WIN - Inspire your pupils’ creativity and win fantastic prizes with our new Writing Competition!

Authors are often asked how to start writing, and the best answer is JUST START! Having a nice new exercise book and a special writing pen to write in it can also help too! So, to get you and your pupils started on your creative writing journey, we are offering the first 1,000 who schools a free starter set of 50 premium Oxford exercise books and 100 sheets of high quality writing paper worth £15.98 and a chance to win even more.

We have teamed up with Scholastic and Oxford to offer you and your pupils a wonderful range of prizes for the best short stories when you enter our new writing competition. Pupils must write a story with up to 250 words in their best handwriting (depending on year) to enter. Award-winning author Emma Barnes, whose new Wild Thing series is published by Scholastic, will be judging the best entries in three categories: Years 1-2, Years 3-4 and Years 5-6. Emma has kindly provided an extract from her new book The Wild Thing as inspiration for the stories too.

Hope Education to launch LEGO® Education’s StoryStarter competition

            LEGO® Education’s StoryStarter competition launches

10th November 2014

Hope Education and Lego® Education invite teachers and their pupils across the UK to submit their stories created with Lego Education’s StoryStarter – a unique hands-on and digital resource for teaching for pupils aged 6-11.

Teachers can request a free StoryStarter sample kit from Hope Education to then get creative with their pupils, using the free bricks and curriculum pack preview provided. To turn their creations into a story they simply have to use Lego Education’s unique StoryVisualizer software. The submissions can be sent between 10th November 2014 and 31st January 2015. At the end of November, December and January the best story received that month will be chosen to win a StoryStarter classroom pack.

            NDNA Nursery of The Year Awards 2014

Hope Early Years proudly sponsored the NDNA Nursery of the Year Awards at the Lancashire County Cricket Club on the 19th June 2014.

Oakfield Nursery school were awarded overall UK winners of the NDNA UK Nursery of the year 2014, as well as Regional North of England winners. 

Hope Early Years congratulated all regional and national winners, who were presented with vouchers which they could use to buy resources for their nurseries with.

           The Essential Nursery Conference

The NDNA essential nursery conference 2014 brings you all the latest advice and information from a range of experts in the early years sector.

The conference takes place in the summer every year over two days and is aimed at nurseries, local authorities, partners and those with an interest in the childcare sector.

          Healthy Body Happy Me 2014

Take part in this years’ Healthy Body Happy Me week from 24th-30th March for fun filled activities and lessons that children will take with them for the rest of their lives. We received lots of creative entries which really captured the festive spirit and would like to thank all those that entered, but the winning entry came from pupils at the Millwood Primary Special School in Bury, winning £350 worth of Art & Craft Resources.

Early Years Education Conference

The conference attracts over 100 delegates from a mixture of roles including nursery managers, owners, early year's professionals, advisors and practitioners and in essence those who have a real interest and passion for the early years.

This year's Conference theme, Child development in the early years, is a highly relevant topic and the programme is designed to take an informative and educational approach through key-speaker seminars and practical workshops.

This year we will be attending on the 19th - 20th September at Lakeside Conference Centre, Aston University, Birmingham in the refreshment room.

At the Education Show 2011 we showcased some of our new and innovative Primary, Early Years and commodity products including our ERA Award 2011 short listed Obzipod Activity Table and Rainbow Tunnels. To celebrate Comic Relief on 18th March, we asked delegates to tell us their favourite jokes with the winner getting a fantastic £250 worth of resources!

Our winning joke was submitted by Lesley Chambers "I got attacked by a bloke who whacked me with a lump of cheese and a carton of milk... I thought how very dairy!"
